Sonny’s practice focuses on business law, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, corporate and commercial matters, corporate reorganizations, and strategic business matters. He regularly advises clients on transactions, commercial agreements and the legal and regulatory issues that arise throughout the life of a business.
Deal-oriented and pragmatic, clients trust Sonny to structure, negotiate and execute transactions with a clear understanding of their commercial objectives. His experience spans a broad range of industries, including agribusiness, food and beverage, retail, hospitality, sports, energy and government.
Prior to joining Noctua Legal, Sonny developed experience in both private practice and in-house environments, including at one of Canada’s leading national law firms and as a legal counsel in the energy sector. Sonny also brings a strong understanding of political risk, public policy, and regulated environments, shaped by his experience in politics and government. His background allows him to combine legal analysis, commercial judgment, and strategic insight to provide clients with practical, business-focused advice.
